Malaria eradication-ExxonMobil says it has committed $170m so far

ExxonMobil has said, it has committed $170m so far, supporting local and global organizations working to eliminate malaria worldwide.

This support has been in the area of administration of 5 million anti-malaria treatments, delivery of 15 million bed nets, the distribution of 3.9 million rapid diagnostic kits and also supporting the training of 700,000 health workers.

The Manager, Media and Communications, Mobil Producing Nigeria Unlimited, Mr. Oge Udeagha also disclosed that $5.7m have also been committed by the company for this year’s grants in conjunction with the world’s Malaria Day.

Malaria which is curable, treatable and preventable, causes an estimated 436,000 deaths annually.
