Housewife kidnaps husband in Lagos, demands N5 million

A housewife, Elizabeth Sowemi, together with the three men, which she allegedly hired to kidnap her husband, Moruf Sowemi, for N5 million, has been remanded by an Ebute-Meta Magistrates’ court.

The order was made by Chief Magistrate Adeola Adebayo, following the application by the State Criminal Intelligence Investigation Department (SCIID), Panti, Yaba, Lagos.

The Prosecuting Inspector, Chimalu Uwadione alleged that Elizabeth had instructed the three men-Musibau Ayinde, 28, Kehinde Salisu, 45 and Jacob Ogunbiyi, 43, to kidnap her 53-year-old husband, Moruf, on May 16, 2019, at Abule-Egba, a Lagos suburb.

And that the trio, allegedly captured and held Moruf captive in a compound belonging to one of the men in Idi Iroko, Ogun State, then demanded N5 million ransom, from Moruf’s relatives for his release, but were arrested by the police following a tip-off.
