Two security guards have been arrested by the Ondo State Police Command for allegedly killing their boss, 71-year-old Kwakye Kwaku Richards, a Ghanaian and his daughter, Kwakye Tope, at their residence at Ojomo Akintan Estate, in Ondo-State.
The State Commissioner of Police, Undie Adie, while parading the suspects, Ayuba Idris and Taisu Abubakar, both aged 20, said the suspects were initially declared wanted by the police for killing the victims and were later apprehended in Kano and Sokoto States respectively.
The suspects said the reason for killing their boss was due to arrears of salaries owed to them. When further interrogated, one of the suspects, Abubakar, denied killing the victim because of unpaid salaries, but rather blamed their action to the influence of Tramadol and Indian Hemp.
The suspects further disclosed that they decided to kill the man’s daughter to cover their tracks since she saw them the day they killed her father.
The police said the suspects will be charged to court upon completion of the investigation.
