Israel’s Prime Minister’s wife, Sara Netanyahu convicted for misusing public funds

Sara Netanyahu, wife of Israel Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu has been convicted for using public funds to pay for expensive restaurant meals.

Sara Netanhayu admitted to Jerusalem Magistrate’s court to buying meals from luxury restaurants, despite the constant presence of a chef at the Prime Minister’s government residence.

The court has ordered her to pay a fine of 10,000 shekels (about $2,777) and reimbursement of 45,000 shekels (about $12,500) to the state coffers.
