Woman arrested for posing as an aide to Lagos State Governor, Sanwo-Olu, to secure visa at an Italian Embassy

A woman claiming to be an aide to Governor Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State, in order to secure visas from the Italian Embassy for some unsuspecting Nigerians has been arrested.

The Governor’s Deputy Chief Press Secretary, Gboyega Akosile released a statement that the suspect had sent an email to the Italian Embassy, allegedly posing as an aide to the governor to secure visas for some members of the public. But the embassy then wrote to the Governor’s office to authenticate the claims, which was false.

Akosile further disclosed that the lady has been arrested and is currently being interrogated, but she denied the allegation, claiming that her email was hacked.
