Nigerian music diva, Yemi Alade hits one million YouTube subscribers, becoming the first African female artist to do so

Nigerian music diva, Yemi Alade is now the first Africa female artist to hit one million subscribers on the video streaming platform, YouTube.

According to the news agency of Nigeria (NAN), the feat is coming months after Yemi became the second Nigerian to hit a one hundred million views on YouTube for the song ‘Jonny’.

The singer took to her Instagram page @yemialade to celebrate the feat.

She wrote, “God is the GREATEST, started this journey six years ago. Thanks to everyone streaming/watching my videos and music. God bless us all.”

Following this feat, Yemi now joins other entertainers who have over one million subscribers, including the defunct P-Square (1.2 million), Davido (1.5 million) and Diamond Platnumz (2.1 million).
