Barely a day after pledging his support for the Bahamians, ace filmmaker, Tyler Perry has come through with his pledge for the hurricane-ravaged island country.
“To all the incredible people of the Bahamas who have welcomed me and called me an adoptive son, I want you to know that I am watching closely, and as soon as I can, I will be there to do whatever I can to help you rebuild stronger and better,” he wrote on Instagram earlier this week.
Perry sent out his private seaplane loaded with supplies which include water, juice, diapers and sleeping bags to the Abaco Islands which is one of the hardest-hit regions of the country.
The private plane which made a return journey to the United States on Thursday, had on board seven passengers, including a pregnant woman, small children and others who needed urgent medical attention.
Dorian, though formally a category 5 Hurricane has now been downgraded to a category one storm and is currently churning the eastern US, sea-bound towards Nova Scotia. Thirty people are reported to have died and several others still missing.
